First Sunday Food Collection: January 5, 2020

On the first Sunday of each month, the SRPC Diaconate collects canned and dry goods, as well as, general household products and toiletries, for the local food pantry. Please bring an item or two to donate to the local food pantry and place it in the bin in the foyer.

Please review the list of frequently needed items below:

Canned and Dried Food

  • Breakfast items cereal, oatmeal, grits, etc.
  • Peanut butter and jelly
  • Canned or dry beans
  • Honey
  • Canned vegetables
  • Canned fruit
  • Canned meats (tuna, chicken)
  • Whole-grain pasta
  • Canned tomato sauce
  • Brown Rice
  • Milk
  • Cooking oil
  • Canned soup
  • Coffee

Ladies Bible Study Resumes: January 8, 2020

The Wednesday morning ladies Bible study resumes their study of Hebrews on January 8, 2020.

Are you resolving in the new year to learn more of God’s Word? Why not join us to help make that a reality? It is never to late to join us.

We meet each Wednesday morning at 10:30am. Nursery care can be provided for those who need it, as long as we are notified 24 hours in advance.

Nursery Duty Sign-Up 2020

Please note that there are still many slots left to be filled in the Nursery Duty Sign-Up:

We need all able adult church members to participate in order to provide this important ministry to the families attending our services. If you have questions please contact Robin Deane.

Also, please complete the SRPC Child Protection training, if you have not done so already. Our goal is to have 100% of the adults in our congregation complete this training. Please email Jeff Holbrook for the link to the training.

Year End Giving 2019

Year End Giving: Any gifts that you desire to be counted toward 2019 charitable giving for tax purposes must be posted and deposited in the mail or received by the church by December 31st. For further details and options, please refer to your emailed announcements.

Matching Grant Opportunity: Matthew DeLong and the George Mason University RUF-I ministry are currently underfunded. Officer Nominations Open: December 15, 2019

Nominations for the offices of Elder and Deacon are open beginning Sunday, December 15, 2019 until Sunday, January 19, 2020.   Please use the forms provided for nominations in the bulletin.  Please read the explanations provided and prayerfully consider whom you believe would be qualified to fill these important offices.  You may submit nominations to the Pastors or any of the Elders.

Christmas Eve Service: December 24, 2019 at 7pm

CandlelightJoin us for our inspiring Candlelight Christmas Eve Service. The service will begin at 7pm and will include Scripture readings, a brief message from the pastor, congregational singing of traditional Christmas hymns, as well as some special musical offerings. The service concludes singing “Silent Night” by candlelight.

We welcome any and all to come celebrate the nativity of the Lord Jesus with us.
