Ladies Morning Bible Study Resumes Oct. 3 at 10 am

Tuesday, October 3, 2017, the Tuesday Morning Ladies’ Bible Study will resume. We will meet at the church building from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

We will continue our study of G I Williamson’s The Westminster Shorter Catechism for Study Classes.  This week we will cover chapter 49 of that book which looks at Questions 82-84 of WSC.

Volunteer Fair at Care Net: September 16, 2017, 10:00am-12:00pm

Volunteer Fair at Care Net: Care Net ministry is looking for volunteers who are willing to give a few hours of their time each week to volunteer at the Woodbridge center. A Volunteer Fair is planned for Saturday, September 16, 2017, 10:00am-12:00pm at Care Net Pregnancy Resource Centers 8691 Stonewall Rd, Suite B, Manassas, VA for those interested in volunteering.

Communicant’s Classes Begin Sept. 12, 2017

Any young people who desire to become communing* members of Spriggs Road Presbyterian Church are invited to attend a 13 week session of Communicant’s Classes on Tuesday evenings beginning September 12, 2017.

*Communing members are those who have made a profession of faith
in Christ, have been baptized, and have been admitted by the Session to the Lord’s Table. (Book of Church Order 6-2)

Lovely Ladies Club: August 31

Lovely Ladies Club meeting reminder: Thursday,  Aug. 31, 7-10pm at Gina Powell’s home. This is for ladies only, so no children please! Ladies are asked to bring an appetizer to share and something to drink. If you would like to swim, be sure to bring your swimsuit and towel. No men or children will be present and it will be a non-judgemental, no-beachbody-required swim time. We will get together, rain or shine. Please come if you would like to, even if you didn’t sign up. All are welcome!

First Sunday Food Collection

Food Assistance Request: On the first Sunday of each month, the SRPC Diaconate is collecting canned and dry goods for the local food pantry. Please bring an item or two to donate to the local food pantry and place it in the bin in the foyer.

Items currently needed by the local pantry include:

Canned and Dried Food

  • Breakfast items cereal, oatmeal, grits, etc.
  • Peanut butter and jelly
  • Canned or dry beans
  • Honey
  • Canned vegetables
  • Canned fruit
  • Canned meats (tuna, chicken)
  • Whole-grain pasta
  • Canned tomato sauce
  • Brown Rice
  • Milk
  • Cooking oil
  • Canned soup
  • Coffee
